Idaho Regional Travel Grant Program

Created in 1981, the Idaho Regional Travel and Convention Grant Program is funded by 45 percent of the two percent lodging tax, paid by travelers and collected by Idaho hotel, motel and private campground owners. Its mission is to stimulate and expand the state's travel and convention industry through local efforts and matching funds. Grant applications from non-profit chambers of commerce, convention and visitors bureaus and regional travel organizations with tourism promotion as their primary function are due the 1st Monday in June and reviewed for award by the Idaho Travel Council in July.

You can access a listing of grant awards in an Excel spreadsheet    Forty-three (43) grants were awarded for the 2008-09 grant year.  In addition to awarding grants within their respective region, Travel Council members are abel to award to multi-region or statewide applicants.  There were four multi-region grant applications and three were awarded grant monies.
